The nine buildings at a glance
Floors are storeys above ground. We give a single number only where at least two independent sources agree. Where they don't, we show what each one says. The "Land Department name" column shows the building name that appears in Dubai Land Department (DLD) transaction records, as republished on each tower's Propsearch page.
| Building | Land Department name | Floors | Completed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Residences 1 | Residences_W1 | 42 | 2007 | 42 per The Skyscraper Center and Propsearch. Bayut's Tower 1 page says 26 |
| Building 2: Ramada, now Wyndham Downtown Dubai | โ | 33 or 38 | opened 2009 | Hotel apartments, not a residential tower. Propsearch says 33 storeys, The Skyscraper Center 38 |
| The Residences 3 | Residences_W3 | 26 | 2007 | 26 per Propsearch and Bayut. The Skyscraper Center says 34 |
| The Residences 4 | Residences_E1 | 29 | 2006โ2007 | All three sources agree on 29. Completion is 2006 per The Skyscraper Center, 2007 per Bayut |
| The Residences 5 | Residences_E2 | 34 | 2007 | 34 per The Skyscraper Center and Bayut. Propsearch says 35 |
| The Residences 6 | Residences_E3 | not confirmed | 2005โ2007 | Sources give 24, 26 and 35, so we don't publish a figure |
| The Residences 7 | โ | 40 | โ | 40 per Propsearch and Bayut |
| The Residences 8 | โ | 35 | โ | 35 per Propsearch and Bayut |
| The Residences 9 | โ | not confirmed | โ | Only Propsearch gives a figure (30 storeys) |
For the cluster as a whole, Propsearch says the buildings were finished between 2006 and 2007, and Bayut and Wikipedia both give 2007. The Skyscraper Center lists two basement levels under the towers, and Propsearch says the same.
How the cluster is laid out
Propsearch describes the nine towers as sitting on a curving, landscaped podium that faces Burj Khalifa, the lake and Burj Park. Bayut places The Residences 5 between Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and Burj Park. The Skyscraper Center gives the address of each tower it lists as 13 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.
The towers vary a lot in height, from mid-rise blocks of fewer than 30 floors to The Residences 1 at 42. If height matters to you, check the floor count of the specific tower in the table above. Don't assume the cluster is uniform.
Facilities shared across the cluster
Both Propsearch and Bayut list these facilities for The Residences:
- swimming pools and fitness centres (gyms)
- squash courts and a badminton court
- a mini-theatre, a library and a meeting room
- a day-care centre and a business centre
- concierge and 24-hour security
- four levels of parking
Individual Bayut tower pages add saunas, jacuzzis and children's play areas for some towers. These are listed per building, so ask about the specific tower before you rely on them.
Why tower numbers are confusing
Different sources match the tower numbers to different buildings:
- Land Department records register the towers under west and east names: Residences_W1, W3, E1, E2 and E3 for The Residences 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
- The Skyscraper Center gives alternative names that repeat (three different towers are each called "W2 Tower"), so its labels can't be used to match towers.
- Bayut's page for Tower 1 lists unit sizes that match DLD records for Residences_W3 (The Residences 3), not Residences_W1. That's probably why Bayut gives Tower 1 26 storeys instead of 42.
In practice, if you're buying or renting, ask for the DLD building name on the title deed or Ejari. It's the one label every official record uses.
What's missing from the record
We couldn't confirm a floor count for The Residences 6 or 9, height in metres for most towers, unit counts per tower, or service charges. We haven't published those figures. For unit sizes that are confirmed, see unit types and sizes. For how the cluster came about, see the history page.
